Newport’s village of Caerleon gained another Roman experience tonight.

Already it boasts the splendid Roman Amphitheatre, baths and barracks plus the museum and interpretation area. They are all lovingly preserved and skilfully displayed.  This evening Paul Loveluck supremo of Amgueddfa, the Welsh Museum Trustees,  and Rosemary Butler AM opened a new Roman garden.

The instruction on what to grow came from Pliny the Older and Younger. Entirely authentic Roman food was also on offer. The garden adds a new delight to Caerleon rich Roman adventure.
